Today was an amazing day for the Simcoe Woodturners Guild. We had the great pleasure to be able to host Jimmy Clewes for a full day demonstration. Jimmy presented a lot of great turning information to the guild members. He explained his methods and why he does things the way he does. He was gracious [...] Just a reminder to all members that the Jimmy Clewes demonstration will be held at the usual meeting site. The time for the event is 9:00 until 3:00 and will include a lunch. The cost for the event is $30 for members and $35 for non-members. Please contact Aubrey, Taylor or Kelvin if there are [...] A lot of information was hand out at this month`s meeting. Final preparations are underway for the Jimmy Clewes demonstration at the end of the month. A large thanks is in order for Peter Steenwyk. He donated a Doug Thompson gouge and handle . It will most likely be raffled off in a special raffle. [...] This was the first meeting back after a long hot summer and the show and tell table has shown that some of us put the yard work aside and made plenty of time for turning. Our demonstrator was Shawn Hermans who was showing us how he makes Singapore Balls.
