Today was an amazing day for the Simcoe Woodturners Guild. We had the great pleasure to be able to host Jimmy Clewes for a full day demonstration. Jimmy presented a lot of great turning information to the guild members. He explained his methods and why he does things the way he does. He was gracious [...] Just a reminder to all members that the Jimmy Clewes demonstration will be held at the usual meeting site. The time for the event is 9:00 until 3:00 and will include a lunch. The cost for the event is $30 for members and $35 for non-members. His link is also in our `Suppliers` list. Kurt Hertzog will be conducting hands-on workshops in the Toronto region with possible evening sessions at interested nearby guilds. Present bookings (except Sunday) are at Artistic Wood with Peter Steenwyk [...] The President’s barbeque turned out to be a great success. This year it was held in conjunction with our monthly meeting. We changed it this year in hopes that members that can’t normal attend due to busy summer schedules would have a chance to partake.
